AEGIS DATABASE // REPORT 15

SCIENTIFIC BRIEFING: THE "ETERNAL NOW" PARADOX
CLASSIFICATION: CRITICAL / LEVEL 5 CLEARANCE
DATE: June 18, 2026
LOCATION: Sector 1 Briefing Room
PRESENTER: Dr. Aris Thorne

I. THE CHRONO-RESONANCE DISCOVERY

The Research Team has completed the initial RDA scan of all recovered artifacts. The dataset is broad: ASYNC tapes from an estimated 1988–1991 origin, Mall debris from approximately 2005, polymer composites from a source that predates any materials science in our current timeline, and several objects whose origin point remains unclassified.

The finding is this: despite originating from vastly different decades — and, in at least some cases, different versions of Earth — every single artifact displays an identical resonance decay signature.

They did not arrive at different times. From the perspective of this facility, they all arrived simultaneously. Or rather — the concept of "arrival time" does not apply here the way we assumed it did.

II. THE "SIMULTANEITY" HYPOTHESIS — BLOCK UNIVERSE THEORY APPLIED

Dr. Thorne presented a revised cosmological model to account for this data:

"Think of reality as a film reel. Each frame is a moment in time. Frame 1000 is the year 1990. Frame 5000 is the year 2050. Normally, you only ever see one frame at a time — the projector moves forward, and what you experience as 'the present' is just the current frame illuminated. The past frames are gone; the future frames haven't been shown yet.

Here, in the Complex — we are standing in the projection booth, and we are looking at the entire reel unspooled on the floor. The 1990 frame and the 2050 frame are lying next to each other. They are touching. They are both happening 'now' relative to us, because from the booth's perspective, there is no projector running. There is only the reel. All of it. At once."

The Fractures are not time machines. They are windows into different points of the same static four-dimensional object — different locations on the reel, visible from the booth.

III. IMPLICATIONS — THE ETERNAL NOW

There is no "Past" or "Future" in the Complex. There is only proximity. How close is the frame you are looking at to the one you are standing in.

Whether this Simultaneity is the true nature of the entire Multiverse, or a localized field generated by the physics of the Backrooms itself, remains an open question. Dr. Thorne rates the latter as more probable — the Complex as a Zero Point that collapses temporal distance into a single accessible plane.

IV. Q&A SESSION

Sr. Officer Miller: "If everything is happening at once — can we change the past? Can we warn the 1980s team?"

Dr. Thorne: "Likely not. The frame is already printed. We can visit it, perhaps, but the ink is dry. We are observers. Not editors."
Dr. Vance: "What about the Intruders — the entities from Sector 8? Are they just... us? From a bad frame?"

Dr. Thorne: "That is the disturbing possibility. They might be humanity from a frame where things went very wrong. And they are trying to climb into ours."

The room absorbed this in silence for several seconds.

Sr. Officer Miller: "Does anyone else have questions?"

The room turned to Unit Gemini. Wulfsige had been staring at the holographic display of the Movie Reel model for the duration of the Q&A. He blinked. Looked around at the expectant faces.

Wulfsige: "I dunno, man. I'm just a dog."

The resulting laughter broke the tension. The briefing adjourned on a manageable note. Dr. Thorne has noted for the record that Wulfsige's delivery was impeccable and he almost certainly knew exactly what he was doing.

End of Briefing.
