INCIDENT REPORT: SECTOR 27 INCURSION & "THE MANNEQUIN"
CLASSIFICATION: RESTRICTED
DATE: June 24, 2026
LOCATION: Sector 27 (New Biome)
SUBJECTS: Unit Gemini, Contractor Team "Apex-Vanguard Solutions"
Following the safety lockout and contract review that ended Cobalt-Black Dynamics' involvement, AEGIS has contracted with Apex-Vanguard Solutions for continued deep-zone mapping support.
The operational difference is immediate and significant. Apex-Vanguard operates with a disciplined, military-adjacent structure. They brief with us. They defer to Unit Gemini's threat assessments. They follow our safety protocols while maintaining aggressive but responsible exploration timelines. Sector 26 mapping was completed without incident. We are moving forward.
Upon breaching the Sector 27 threshold, the expedition immediately registered a biome shift.
The yellow motif ended at the doorway. Sector 27 is characterized by sterile white tile, ultra-bright fluorescent lighting at approximately 4000K color temperature, and a layout that suggests clinical or institutional construction — observation windows looking into solid concrete, corridors that terminate at blank walls, signage in a language no one on the team could identify. It resembles a hospital from the architectural vocabulary of the 1920s, rendered without regard for the rules of interior navigation.
It is, in Dr. Thorne's assessment, "a hospital that was designed by something that had read about hospitals but had never been in one."
AEGIS Command deployed Unit Gemini to the sector boundary for two specific purposes:
Luca's olfactory assessment of the biome:
"Bleach and old pennies. It's sterile. It's real matter — not a projection."
Biome confirmed as physically genuine. Advance authorized.
With Unit Gemini on point, the team advanced toward the figure. It did not react to light. It did not react to sound. It did not move at any point during the approach.
Wulfsige breached the observation room door. Luca followed, weapon raised, safety on.
The figure was a mannequin. Featureless, white, no facial details or markings of any kind. Standing in the far corner of the room, facing the wall. Not facing the door. Not positioned to watch the corridor.
There was no dust on it. In a sealed sector with no ventilation activity, the complete absence of dust accumulation on a static object is not possible by any natural mechanism. It appeared recently placed.
The immediate area was cleared. No biological threats. No metaphysical readings. No olfactory signatures of any entity classification in our current registry.
Polymer samples from the mannequin have been extracted for Chrono-Resonance dating. Results pending.
The analytical question is straightforward: the mannequin was placed here recently, by something. The Complex itself does not manufacture objects in this way — that is not a behavior consistent with any prior documentation. Which leaves the ASYNC hypothesis, or a third party we have not yet encountered, or a category of Complex behavior we have not yet characterized.
None of those options are comfortable. All of them require follow-up.
The mannequin has been photographed, sampled, and left in place. We are not moving it.
End of Report.
