STRATEGIC CONSULTATION REPORT: PROJECT "GEMINUS"
CLASSIFICATION: TOP SECRET (Level 5 Clearance)
DATE: February 25, 2026
LOCATION: Gamma Sector, Briefing Room 4
SUBJECT: Consultation with Asset "Luca" regarding Voluntary Biological Merge (Candidate: Employee 79)
PRESIDING OFFICERS: Dr. Aris Thorne (Lead Xenobiologist), Dr. Elena Vance (Ethics Committee)
Following the discovery of the "Singularity Frequency" (the specific magnetic resonance that caused the initial merge event), Aegis Command has authorized a singular, controlled replication of the event.
Candidate "Employee 79", a volunteer handler at the site's wildlife sanctuary within the Complex, has volunteered to merge with "Kodiak," a male Mackenzie Valley Wolf in his care. "Employee 79" cites extreme isolation, a lack of familial ties, and a desire for "rebirth" or a "restart" and enhanced survival capabilities within the Complex as his motivations.
Before proceeding, it was deemed mandatory to consult with Asset "Luca" (the only existing prototype) to assess the psychological impact of introducing a second hybrid into the ecosystem and to validate the candidate's preparedness.
Topic 1: The Concept of Voluntary Merge
Dr. Thorne: "Luca, we have found a way to do what happened to you... on purpose. We have a volunteer."
Luca: (Ears flatten immediately. He leans forward.) "On purpose? Why? Why would anyone choose this? I mean... I'm okay now, but the first week? It was hell. The noise, the confusion."
Dr. Vance: "His name — well, I can't tell you his name, but we call him 'Employee 79' for privacy, as this is a sensitive subject. He is alone, Luca. After losing his family he feels he has no purpose. He is very close with the wolf he cares for. Unfortunately, the wolf is advanced in age and won't be with us much longer. He believes that by merging, he can protect the team better, preserve his bond with Kodiak, and restart his own life. He's looking to find a new beginning. He calls it his 'rebirth.'"
Luca: (Silence for several seconds. He looks at his own hands, flexing the claws.) "A rebirth... I guess I get that. I don't remember being human, but I know I was lonely. I can feel the 'ghost' of the loneliness sometimes. I'm not sure if that's my human side, or my canine side, but I get it. If he has a bond with the wolf already... that changes things. If they are already friends and close, maybe the transition won't be so scary. Especially controlled."
Topic 2: The Preparations (The Journal)
Dr. Thorne: "Employee 79 understands the memory loss risks. He has written a detailed journal — a history of his life, his favorite foods, why he is doing this. He wrote it for 'Wulfsige.' That is the name he has chosen for the new self."
Luca: (Visibly moved, tail gives a slow, thoughtful wag.) "Wulfsige... 'Victorious wolf'? That's an old English name. That's a strong name. thinks I'm unsure how I even know that. Sometimes I recall information like that. I don't even know how I know that. — But yes, the journal is smart. God, I wish I had that. I woke up with empty pages. If he has a book telling him 'You are safe, you chose this'... that will save him from the panic. Tell him to write down his favorite music, too. Music helps the headaches."
Topic 3: The Reality of "Super Senses"
Luca: "Does he know about the smells? You have to tell him. It's not just 'smelling better.' It's overwhelming. If someone microwaved fish three floors up, it feels like it's in your nose. He needs to be ready for the world to be too loud."
Dr. Thorne: "He is aware. He believes the tactical advantage in the Complex is worth the discomfort. We also believe we can manage his sensory calibration during the procedure to ease that transition."
Luca: "He's brave. Or crazy. Maybe both. But if he's going to work in the Yellow Zones... he's right. He'll hear the Bacteria coming a mile away. He'll survive where a human wouldn't."
The most critical aspect of the interview was determining Luca's reaction to no longer being unique.
Dr. Vance: "Luca, if we do this, there will be two of you. How does that make you feel? Would you view Wulfsige as a threat?"
Luca: (Laughs, a short barking sound.) "A threat? Doc, look at me. I'm the only thing like me in the whole universe. The people here are nice, the kids are great... but nobody knows. Nobody knows what it's like to want to chase a tennis ball and read a book at the same time. Having someone that I can relate to would be amazing."
Dr. Vance: "So, you are open to it?"
Luca: "Open to it? I want it. A pack... a real pack. Not just me following the soldiers. Someone to run with. Someone who doesn't need me to explain why I'm growling at a dark corner. If this Employee 79 guy really wants to do this... let him. I'll help him. As best I can anyway."
Luca provided a list of "requirements" for the procedure, which he insists are necessary for Wulfsige's safety.
Subject Luca's Verdict: ENTHUSIASTIC APPROVAL
Luca views the creation of "Wulfsige" not as an intrusion, but as the arrival of a brother. His psychological profile suggests that having a peer will virtually eliminate his residual separation anxiety. He has already begun discussing "training regimens" to help Wulfsige master his new center of gravity.
