PACK OBSERVATION REPORT 10: PAIN RESPONSE & SIGNALING
SUBJECTS: Unit Gemini
OBSERVER: Dr. Arin Yilmaz

I. THE BIOLOGICAL DIVERGENCE

How a canine handles pain is dictated by their distance from the wild.

II. THE "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" DYNAMIC

Because Wulfsige instinctually hides injury, Medical relies on Luca to report it.

Incident Report (10/12/26):

During a training exercise, Wulfsige took a bad fall, landing hard on his right shoulder. He stood up instantly, brushed it off, and completed the drill with perfect form. He told the medics he was "Fine."

The Betrayal:

Ten minutes later, in the locker room, Luca approached Wulfsige.

  1. Investigation: Luca observed Wulfsige and his shoulder intently.
  2. Confirmation: Luca let out a huff, distressed sigh and nudged Wulfsige's arm with his finger. Wulfsige flinched (micro-reaction).
  3. The Alert: Luca immediately ran into the hallway, grabbed Dr. Yilmaz by the lab coat sleeve, and dragged him into the locker room, pointing at Wulfsige, telling him to check out his shoulder because he thinks it's hurt.

Diagnosis:
Wulfsige had a hairline fracture in his clavicle. He was functioning through 8/10 pain without showing a single physical sign.

III. THE AFTERMATH

Dr. Yilmaz: "You have a broken bone, Wulfsige. Why didn't you say anything?"
Wulfsige: "It was manageable. It didn't feel like a big deal. Just figured I'd sleep it off. Not everything is a medical emergency!"
Luca: (staring at Wulfsige, shaking his head).

Conclusion:
Luca acts as Wulfsige's biological alarm system. Wulfsige may be the shield, but Luca is the sensor that ensures the shield doesn't crack without us knowing.

End of Report.
