ID: MED-SCI-4022
CLEARANCE: LEVEL 5 (Bio-Engineering / Asset Oversight)
CURRENT STATUS: ACTIVE
Full Name: Dr. Aris Thorne
Title: Lead Xenobiologist / Chief Medical Officer (Unit Gemini)
Department: Gamma Sector Research Division
Age: 44
Physical Description: 5'7", lean build. Close-cropped dark hair, silver at the temples. Hazel eyes. Rarely seen without a lab coat or a tablet. Wears reading glasses on a chain — she loses them constantly.
Education:
Dr. Thorne serves as the primary medical authority for the Anthropomorphic Asset Program. She is the chief architect of Project Geminus, having engineered the "Neuro-Sensory Substitution" technique that allowed Specialist Wulfsige to retain full cognitive stability following his voluntary merge. Without her methodology, the procedure would have produced a non-verbal, instinct-driven animal — not a functioning specialist.
Primary duties include:
Recruited by AEGIS following her groundbreaking — and immediately classified — paper on "Rapid Cellular Adaptation in Non-Euclidean Environments," Dr. Thorne was fast-tracked to Gamma Sector with Level 5 clearance on her first day. She was the first medical officer to successfully treat a "Haywire" bone fracture (a fracture caused by physics distortion rather than mechanical force), publishing an internal protocol that is now standard across all AEGIS deep-zone medical teams.
Her calm, methodical demeanor during the initial discovery of Specialist Luca — an accidental hybrid, frightened and amnesiac, surrounded by armed security — established her as the only staff member capable of managing the psychological transition of human-to-hybrid subjects. She performed the first full physiological assessment of Luca within 48 hours of his arrival, working through the night, alone, while the rest of the facility debated what he was.
Prior to AEGIS, Thorne served two tours as a trauma surgeon embedded with USMC Force Recon. She has operated under fire. She does not rattle easily.
Evaluator: Dr. Elena Vance
Status: STABLE / PROTECTIVE
Dr. Thorne displays what Dr. Vance classifies as "Clinical Maternalism" toward Unit Gemini. While she maintains rigorous scientific detachment in data and documentation, she is ferociously protective of the Specialists' physical well-being and will escalate rapidly if she believes either is being endangered by institutional carelessness or corporate pressure.
Incident Note (Feb 12, 2026): Dr. Thorne formally reprimanded a Security Officer for referring to Specialist Luca as "The Dog," stating: "If you cannot distinguish between a sentient colleague and a pet, you are not intelligent enough to hold a firearm in this facility." The officer was reassigned within the week.
She and Dr. Vance operate as an effective paired authority — Thorne handles the body, Vance handles the mind — and rarely disagree on matters affecting the Specialists' welfare. When they do disagree, both are immovable.
Personal Note: Dr. Thorne keeps a running tally on a whiteboard in Bio-Lab A of every metric in which the Specialists exceed human baseline. She updates it after every assessment. The list is currently 47 entries long. She has never explained why she keeps it, but staff have noticed she seems quietly proud of it.
// NOTE: Dr. Thorne is currently the only human staff member Specialist Wulfsige is comfortable allowing to perform blood draws. Specialist Luca will allow any medical staff but requests she be present anyway. //
End of Record.
