AEGIS DATABASE // REPORT 05

STRATEGIC BRIEFING: SECTOR 8 FALLOUT & METAPHYSICAL THREAT ASSESSMENT
CLASSIFICATION: CRITICAL — Executive Eyes Only
DATE: April 02, 2026
SUBJECT: Specialist "Wulfsige" (A-993-W) / Unit Gemini Operations
REPORTING OFFICER: Dr. Aris Thorne (Research Division)

I. SUBJECT STATUS — THE ANCHOR EFFECT

Following the catastrophic extra-dimensional breach in Sector 8, Survey Team Echo-5 has been placed on mandatory psychiatric leave. Presenting symptoms: hallucinations, tremors, catatonia, inability to return to the threshold without panicking. They are not malingering. The encounter broke something in them.

The anomaly: Asset Wulfsige and Asset Luca are the only members of the expedition showing zero signs of psychological trauma.

Wulfsige's explanation, offered without prompting:

"The human trauma — it comes from believing the lie. Their minds accepted the Hologram Trap as a physical reality. When it shattered, their psyche shattered with it. We never bought in. We saw it for what it was — a hunting blind. They saw a room. We saw a trapdoor covered in leaves."

He and Luca see through the spectrum of the illusion. They did not experience the existential rupture the human team experienced because the entity's projection was operating on a frequency their senses can already discriminate. To them, the Sector 8 threat was tactical. Not existential.

II. THE BLIND ESCORT CRISIS

A company-wide morale failure has occurred in the aftermath. Field teams are actively refusing deployment orders to the deep zones — Sector 8 and beyond. The few veteran teams willing to deploy have issued a singular ultimatum: they will not cross the threshold without Unit Gemini on point.

This is not a request. It is a hard stop. Operations are functionally paralyzed.

Wulfsige voiced a pragmatic objection during debrief that cut to the center of the problem:

"I can see them. I can smell them. But I can't kill them. You're asking me to walk these people into a room with a ghost I can't bite. If you want me to protect them, I need to know what I'm fighting. I'm not going back in there blind."

III. THREAT ANALYSIS: BIOLOGICAL VS. METAPHYSICAL

This marks a paradigm shift in AEGIS operations. Two distinct threat categories now require separate strategic frameworks.

Native Threats — The Bacteria: Biological anomalies native to the Complex. Dangerous, physical, increasingly understood. We have protocols. We have tools. We have a body of data.

The New Threat — The Intruders: The entities in Sector 8 are not native glitches. They are invaders. They are intelligent, organized, and capable of projecting psionic constructs that bypass human cognitive defenses. Wulfsige's distinction:

"The Bacteria just wants to eat you. These new things — they want to use you. They want to open the door wider."

IV. STRATEGIC PIVOT: GATEKEEPERS, NOT EXPLORERS

We are no longer mapping the infinite. We are defending against what is trying to come through it. The mission profile has changed.

Action Plan:

  1. Summit: High-level strategy meeting scheduled for 09:00 hours — Unit Gemini, Ethics Committee, and Quantum Physics Division.
  2. Objective: Develop Meta-Ballistics — weapons or shielding capable of disrupting the energy forms Wulfsige can perceive.
  3. Wulfsige's Role: Primary consultant. His ability to sense the frequency of these entities is the only empirical data we have to build countermeasures.

All deep-zone operations are suspended until after the Summit. Wulfsige is correct: we cannot send them into that sector without tools that work on the plane they're operating on.

End of Report.
